Narrative Therapy is a therapeutic practice that can involve self-reflective writing (or speaking) to externalize the problems or events of our lives (the narratives we tell ourselves) to examine them objectively.
I will coach you to retell your story during this externalization process helps us see the problems outside ourselves. I will help you deconstruct the issues and use the right words to invite a level of self-awareness often lost when we’re at the height of your problems.
Narrative therapy is non-blaming in nature to make the problems of your life more manageable to overcome. But by the same token, it is a practice that can keep you highly accountable for the future as you begin to unravel and get honest about the stories you've been telling yourself.
This practice recognizes the client as the expert and an accountable and integral part of the way their future will unfold. Narrative therapy, for this reason, isn’t concerned with diagnoses; I will guide you as an individual in the healing process to your unique outcome.
